Exposition 2019

The second public activity of the Société d’histoire du Canton d’Orford was an exhibition of four informational banners produced by members of the SHCO for the 2019 Journées de la culture.  Part of the series Reflections of the Past, the banners present several people’s contribution to the Township’s history.  Designed by the talented local graphic artist, Geneviève Normandeau, the first presentation of the banners was at the townhall of the Canton d’Orford on Friday, 27 September.

The next two days they were exhibited to the public on the balcony of the white house situated at 2304, chemin du Parc, au parc de la Rivière-aux-Cerises, Canton d’Orford. In fall and winter 2019 the banners hung in the entrance to the municipality’s Council Chamber.

Exposition 2018

The evening of the 28th was a gala opening of the exhibition of 11 photomontages representing the history of the township in the 19th and 20th century.  Both the opening and the exhibition took place in the Café Gratitude (now Belania d'Amour). These photomontages were accompanied by short texts in both French and English, providing a context for them.
